Hear Your Voices, Choose Your Voice

There are many voices at play through the day, a cumulation of thoughts, ideas, memories and beliefs, some presenting with new faces and others that have been with you for a lifetime.

New voices may speak to you with fresh inspiration, and new and exciting ideas, while a voice of criticism will tell you everything that is wrong about these ideas, or it may dive deeper and criticise the very nature of your being.

The voice of loving kindness will approach you with care and compassion, accepting and embracing all that you are; your thoughts and ideas, feelings and emotions, trials and errors, failures and success stories, and it will nurture and support your mind, body and soul.

There will be other voices that echo your innate humour, childlike wonder, distant memories, traumas, celebrations; some will speak in a whisper, and others with a boom.

While a melody of voices plays through the day, you, the receiver experience bodily sensations that impact the creation of new thoughts and ideas, feelings and emotions, and what comes next. This is why, if you are to walk through the days of your life feeling positive, making healthy choices, and creating on-going stories of happiness, peace, joy, celebration, love, pleasure and fulfilment, you need to become the master selector in deciphering which voices to listen to, and which to disregard, and this is true of any voice; within the mind or from the mouths of others.

Your power of choice is claimed when you connect with your observing self; the conscious awareness that is able to say which voice is speaking and what it is saying to you, because if you can ‘see’ and ‘hear’ your inner voices, you are in your place of observation, and if you are in your place of observation, you are standing in the space where you can claim your power, holding the space where you can select what you hear, and what you choose to speak with silence or out loud, which influences what you feel, and what comes next.

The place of observation is not always an easy place to be, for it commands that you take ownership and responsibility for yourself and your life, because from this place, you are free to choose how you respond to life and how you live your life. I wonder, does this fill you with excitement, wonder, anxiety, fear, or curiosity?

The place of observation is also not always an easy place to be, because it is not always clear which voice is speaking the truth: have you ever felt in one moment a new wave of energy rising, lifting you into a realm of excitement, positive potential, and bringing a new feeling of aliveness, hope and possibility that stays with you for a while, perhaps a few hours or days, and then you notice doubt set in and your beautiful dreams are drowned in darkness? This can happen when your internal voices engage in conflict; positivity and negativity at play, often a habitual pattern. Which voice is true, you may ask? But the answer can depend on which voice is taking the stage in the moment you ask the question.

This is why seeking the truth can be a futile quest when it comes to knowing your mind. A far more effective approach is to calm your mind and body, choose to operate from loving kindness and then choose to create thoughts, ideas, beliefs and actions that honour this, because all of the other voices, they are just echoes of your subconscious where a swirl of contradictions may well be pulsing.

From your place of observation, notice, listen and watch what arises and then decide to let anything that stands against loving kindness to pass by, because it is not serving you, it is not helpful and it is not kind, so why listen!

The moment you decide to make it a practice to stand in your place of observation, you take the reigns on your life, and the moment you decide to walk your path with love, is the moment you claim your power to live a positive, healthy, peaceful and fulfilling life, because these are the qualities love by nature pursues.

What helps you to become a better observer?

What supports you in choosing to love?

What do you feel inspired to try now?

Wishing you a beautiful day
