Haunted?

“I’m Not Good Enough” — The Ghost That Haunts Us

There’s a quiet ghost that visits many of us —
whispering in the still corners of our minds.
It is ancient, shape-shifting, and persistent.
It’s speaks from the shadows with a few potent words:
“I’m not good enough.”

I’ve met this ghost countless times —
in boardrooms and classrooms,
training workshops and playgrounds,
across decades, generations, and cultures.

It visits men and women, children and elders,
those just beginning their journey
and those already crowned with worldly success.

And yet, within these very same souls,
I have also met the light-bringers,
beings of fierce confidence,
quiet worth,
wild-hearted belief,
and boundless love.

This tells us something important:

“Good enough” is not something earned.
It is something chosen.

Still, so many wander the haunted halls of self-doubt,
believing they will finally feel enough when they:

  • Earn the right qualifications
  • Live in the perfect home
  • Possess wealth beyond worry
  • Shape their bodies into some elusive ideal
  • Marry, lead, succeed, achieve

But these are only temporary spells, comforting for a moment, their glow fading with the next dawn.

You see, success is built on what you can do.
Good enough is woven from who you are.

There are glittering stars among us:
high achievers, famous artists, visionaries, the gifted and the worldly wise.
Yet even behind their radiant masks,
in the gentle flicker of candlelight,
you may glimpse it, the quiet shadow whispering,
“You are not enough.”

So this haloween, or any night that feels sacred,
stand gently before your own reflection
and ask the ghost within:

  • Who first cast this spell upon me?
  • Is their judgment truth — or only smoke and illusion?
  • Did their words come from love? If not, why listen?
  • And what is this “good enough” I keep chasing? How will I know when I have arrived?

Sometimes, this curse was spoken by others; voices that wounded, knowingly or not.
Other times, we brewed it ourselves, drop by drop, thought by thought, until the story became our own.

Do you recognise these hauntings?

  • Holding yourself back when life calls you forward?
  • Waiting for permission to rise, to shine, to begin?
  • Feeling uneasy in your body; the ache of disharmony or dis-ease?
  • Judging yourself harshly, closing the door on your own magic?
  • Feeling like an imposter in your own story?

These hauntings are the whispers of your shadow self.

On this sacred night, the Witch in me, calls to your inner magic to connect with your deeper truth – the essence of your being – and release the ghosts that no longer serve you.

I call you to take a pause, create a gifted moment to craft a little magic with this sacred spell:

Look softly at your shadow.
Listen to what it has to say.
Then, with patience and kindness,
rewrite your story —
in your own ink,
with words that heal rather than poison

Now ask, what does love have to say about you?

Through tender repetition and loving practice,
you begin to walk a new path through the dark forest.
And as the morning mist lifts,
the old ghosts lose their power.

Because when you finally whisper — or shout our loud in all of your glory —
“I am good enough,”
the haunting ends.

You are free.

You no longer need masks or potions to hide behind.
You stand rooted and radiant, steady in your truth, luminous in your presence.

And under the light of a forgiving moon,
it becomes clear who you truly are,
what matters most,
and how you wish to live from here.

You are not haunted.
You are the healer.
You are the light.
You are the magic itself.

Now cast your intentions gently, and colour them with love
trusting the life that flows through you and with you

Knowing,

You are beautiful

You are lovable

You are powerful

You are free
